Because I failed to wish people happy new year on new year's day.

What's the use of wishing someone happy new year or merry christmas when you don't mean it?

Asking someone "how are you?" when you are just asking out of politeness and deep down you don't care how they are?

Trying very hard to engage in useless conversation with people whom you hardly know and with people you don't even wish to know, so that you appear "oh wow so sociable!"

Spamming the 1000 contacts in your mobile phone with generic merry christmas/happy new yr sms when you have already forget how 900 of them look like.

As if you cared about those 900.

Isn't it being hypocritical?
